Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

alton

21 April 2001 Missouri Ghost Hunters Society (Brian, Linda and Tabrina) loaded up and headed to Alton, IL for a weekend of Ghost Hunting. What we got was far above our expectations. On these pages you will see some of the spirit energies captured on film at some of the most haunted places in the USA
Not only did we get some outstanding photos, but we met up with Gateway Ghost Hunters, who spent Saturday and Saturday night with us, as we photographed Alton, Illinois.

Known as the wall, this section of stone is all that is left of what was once a hugh prison. This prison housed thousands of civil war soldiers and averaged a daily death count of 6 to 10 men. The stone from this prison is now in many foundations of buildings throughout Alton. Some believe that is why Alton is so haunted. For the stone from this prison is in so many buildings in Alton. As you can see this single daylight orb poses for us.

Linda, Tabrina, Shawn and Mitch get some readings at the wall.

Shawn, Tabrina and Mitch get readings and photograph the Confederate monument.

We want to thank Gateway Ghost Hunters for there hospitality and we had a great time. Missouri Ghost Hunters Society and Gateway Ghost Hunters are going to work together in an upcoming project and we will post this excellent investigation when it comes in. Mean while, please visit this new team (Gateway Ghost Hunters) web site and watch them as they visit many haunted locations.

Brian, Linda and Tabrina head on there own to visit yet a couple of haunted locations in Alton.

We head over to the caves. These caves were home to the creature Piasa. Weather it be from folklore or if many believed that this creature did exist, these caves house this famous painting on the wall of the cave. The original was destroyed many years prior, but now stands a replica of this bird like creature. As we stand at the entrance to one of the caves, two orbs appear to be watching us.

The painting of the Piasa Bird on the side of the caves entrance. Did this creature really exist? You be the judge.

Linda, Tabrina and Brian head over to our last stop of the weekend, "McPike Mansion". This mansion is know to be one of the most haunted places in the United States. I think we would have to somewhat agree with this statement. The owner of the McPike Mansion, "Sharyn", was very nice and we thank her for her hospitality. If you are interested in getting a tour of the grounds, please e-mail us and we will give you the details. Mean while take a look of just a couple of the spirit energy photographs that we captured while at the McPike Mansion.

McPike Mansion stands today in waiting for renovation. Even as it stands now, this mansion holds a person in awe at its rich design and historic features.

A couple of orbs are captured on the stairway at the McPike Mansion.

An ecto fog surrounds us as we stand in the wine cellar of the McPike Mansion. The cellar, even though colder, we still detected an unusual coldness that moved in when the Ecto fog was photographed.

In this photo, notice the tube like orb in motion at the top left of the photo.

These were just some of the photographs taken in Alton, IL. Not only did we visit many of the haunted locations, we also visited many non haunted sites. Alton host many sites that make for a stay in Alton. The largest man in the world statue is located in Alton and many more sites. So if you get time head over to Alto and visit these great sites. Like us, head over to Troy Taylor's bookstore. Again, we want to thank Gateway Ghost Hunters and Sharyn (McPike Mansion) for their kindness. We had a great time and we met some good friends.

If you are interested in taking a tour of the McPike Grounds. Please call Sharyn Luedke at 618-462-3348 for an appointment. Tours of the grounds are by appointment only.
