This online report is intended as a brief synopsis of paranormal events that unfolded or was founded to accompany the investigation of the following location. This is only a brief synopsis of events and by no means entails an in-depth account of all activities, encounters or experiences of the paranormal or actions taken by the investigating agency. This is intended as an information report to assist those that are suffering from a haunting or ghost sighting and is for those who seek support and understanding of haunts.

Equipment

Video Camera: Sony Handy cam Night Shot CCD-TRV37 Video 8 MM XR with attached HVL-IRC IR.
Digital Cameras: 2 - Olympus D360L, 1 - Olympus 35 MM Camera.
E.M.F.: Extech 480823
Recorders: G.E. Micro cassette, Radio Shack Micro cassette
Thermometer: Radio Shack Digital, and mini-thermometer.
Other: Radio Shack IR Motion Detectors, Standard Compass

Evidence Collected

In addition to photos and Evp's, other evidence collected was recorded in the report as influx in Geo Magnetic fields which indicted energy fluctuations that supports spirit energy. These readings are in direct correlation to data collected by this agency and those others that utilize EMF meters and the evidence collected falls within the area identified as spirit energy present. Thermal probes and scanners indicated several drops in temperatures that were such a drastic change that no normal or realistic explanation other then the paranormal could be given. They fell within the parameters and data supporting such changes and would indeed lean toward that of the paranormal. These readings were present and noted in this investigation.

Investigators Synopsis

On 05 October 2001 Missouri Ghost Hunters Society teamed up with Gateway Ghost Hunters of St. Louis and conducted this exciting investigation of the Payne - Gentry Mansion. The sightings of Ghost has been many for this historical home. Many people have claimed to see spirits of children playing near a tree in back of the property and also on the front porch. Many mysterious things have been reported to occur within this home. Our goal was to attempt to record spirit energy in and around this home. To our benefit we were not disappointed.

Brian and Linda of M.G.H.S. and Mitch, Shawn, Don, Clinton and Belinda of Gateway Ghost Hunters met at the Payne - Gentry mansion just prior to nightfall. Before we go into the events that followed. Linda and I would like to say that even though Gateway Ghost Hunters is a fairly new team of less then one year old. They are very dedicated to their work and you couldn't ask for any group that has a heart of gold and truly care about people and paranormal investigations. This is not the first time that M.G.H.S. has teamed up with this wonderful group and it will not be our last. We have all become very close friends and we share that desire to help people and to present evidence of paranormal investigations.

Brian, Linda, Mitch and Don decided to get measurements of any natural Geo and Electromagnetic fields that might be present at the property for comparison. In doing so our attempt to figure out why so many children spirits have been reported playing by the tree in the back of the yard brought us to conducting grave dowsing around that area. To our amazement, we detected a clearly and defined small cemetery near the old tree. According to the grave dowsing findings, their is a variety of adult and children buried in this unmarked small cemetery.

After our initial measurements, each member took on their responsible tasks and below is just some of the photos and events that occurred with each photo.

Brian, Linda and Mitch decided to sit up in the attic and see what readings we could get and set up an observation area that we sat and waited for anything that could occur. After about 15 Minutes Mitch could see a redish light near the boxes on the left of the photograph. Brian took this photo which shows three orb like energies. Not long after that Linda and Brian, who were siting on and at the top of the stairway, detected a very strong cold spot the moved up the stairs and into the attic. Following this cold spot was a prominent sound of someone unseen walking up the stairs. Brian was sitting on the stairs when the last footstep stopped on the stair that Brian's feet were resting on. Brian could feel the vibration of the footsteps as they stopped on that particular step.

This page only shows some of the photos and accounts of this investigations. We want to thank the Historical Society for allowing us to investigate this wonder piece of history and to be able to share our findings with you. We also want to thank Gateway Ghost Hunters for setting this up and inviting us to be a part of this exciting investigation.
